Learning Log #12

We learned that there were Jews in China and Japan.  And there are some really awesome videos that we watched about that.  We learned about the 100 most used words in the English language.  And there were like which, what, she, where, why, he, him, they, people and a bunch of other stuff.  And we went to see a nutcracker ballet.  And they got little kids to come on stage and do some ballet moves like jumping over people and lifting them up by the waist and all those other kids of things.  And we went to this other nutcracker play downtown but on that one they did not ask for little kids to come up and do ballet.  But that s ok it was still really really awesome. And there was this really loud canyon shot at the end.  And we watched brain pop videos about the silk road and how the Jews that came to china came on the silk road. And there was allot of trading that happened on the silk road. And I don't remember much of that.

And then the polite brought out two pieces of gum out of his pocket that he found.  And he broke each of them up into  four pieces. So that there were eight pieces of gum and then he gave it to four of the kids and they they would keep ripping up the gum and the wrappers into a million tiny pieces. And then they were all smelling it and it smelled yummy, and they were like umm.. And then he got a light bulb above his head and he filled bags full of candy with little parachutes on them.  And then he loaded the all onto a plane and then he got a pilot to drive the plane and then there was these little parachutes with candy on them floating down form the sky and the kids were all happy and they all caught them. And then the called him the candy bomber.  and then they got the candy bomber to go on stage.  And he was a really really old man. And back hen when the story happened he was a teenager.then the whole building started shaking and all these parachutes with candy were all floating down from the ceiling and everyone in the audience was catching them. Learning Log #11

We got a bunch of cinder blocks, and then we nailed a nail in the ground, and then we put a dog lash on it to get our measurements just right.  And we put a bunch of cinder blocks in a circle standing up on end.  And then we put a whole bunch of cinder blocks up on top of those ones that were laid flat.  And we did it all in one day.  And then it was all finished except for one little cinder block was out of place.  And then our cousins come over and we video taped them putting the last brick in place.

We went to this cool town thing, it was like a little town. And we got to walk around in a mall. And we went to see the nutcracker. And after that we got to walk around in the mall. And we bought oriental food and chocolate.  And the egg rolls were delicious.  So were the noodles and the rice. And I liked the shrimp and all that other stuff. etc. etc. etc.

We went to see the cousins nativity play. And it was really cool because at first it started with a bunch of people dancing. And at the end for the big finally all the angels came out and sung hark the Harold angles sing. And then at the end we all sung the first verse of silent night, everyone in the audience and all the actors.

One time at the doctors we were waiting in the waiting room.  And we were board so Papa decided to talk about atoms and he said that atoms are like a great big sun with a planet orbiting around them.  The sun is called a proton and then the little planet that orbits around it is a neutron. If the little sun on the atom was the size of our sun then the planet orbiting around it would be farther then Pluto, because it is such a big space between the proton and the neutron.
